Oh good grief, these things are some kind of 'gadgets' from the old theme manager program. Sorry to waste your time.

Very unusual. Installed the Fences beta 3.0.5.3. No problems. Rebooted. When the desktop came back up, there was a weather module and a clock module skinned with my current WB theme. The "About" on both modules stated they were Stardock products.

I have no idea where these came from.

Had to reboot, and now there is an RSS feed module. I have unchecked 'autorun' and closed them, but where are they coming from? I only use WB, Fences, Start 10, and IP. I have Dreams loaded but not running.

Any ideas?

Don't see this recently reported, so I guess I'm the only one.

I have unchecked the option, saved settings, rebooted. Then reversed all that by checking the option, saving the settings, rebooting.

I have several applications which use the public documents folder extensively. I want to relocate the public documents folder to an SSD drive specifically so the various graphical apps don't need to wait for a disk to spin up and to get 9.6 gigs of files off my system drive.
There are two ways I have found to do this. One is straight forward: Boot into safe mode, select the properties of that folder, choose the location tab and change it.

The other way is more dramatic and requires the command line to create junctions with the mklink /j option and other DOS stuff. Not afraid of the DOS stuff, just lazy :-)

I used the first method. When I booted back into my desktop, none of my Stardock apps, nor the Winstep apps had picked up the new location. I thought that the OS was supposed to deal with that automatically.  It used to work in Win 7.
I reversed the first method. Back at my desktop, all was well.
I tried the 2nd method. That's when it all went to hell lmao. I followed the instructions to the tee, but it didn't work at all.

So does anyone know how to get this to work on a 64 bit Win 10 machine?

Thanks in advance.

Need a better tech mind please

New HP machine, Win 10 64bit, UEFI "BIOS"

I have screens set to shut off at 10 minutes, HDDs set to shut off at 20 minutes, computer sleeps at 30 minutes. The rest of the power plan is/was the default Win 10 plan.

None of my USB ports stay powered when the machine 'sleeps' including the port on the top with the lightning bolt symbol, which I thought was specifically designed to not shut down.

Here's what I've tried, in approximately the order tried:

Changed power plan setting for "USB Selected Suspend Setting" to disabled.

In Device Manager, unchecked the setting for USB Root Hub>Power Management "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." There is just the one.

Did the same for the USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0

Went into the UEFI and set the SATA power management to disabled.

I would prefer to let the computer go to sleep at 30 minutes and still be able to charge peripheral equipment (phones, etc). I do realize that I could set the computer to never sleep, but...

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your time :-)

Is there a problem with the Forums? I can login to WC no problem, but when I click on the 'Forums' button, it takes me to an odd looking forums screen and asks for my login info again.  Never used to do that. I type in my creds and get a 'server not found' error with an error from ABP saying there was a cross scripting problem.  Then I have to select 'reload problem script' to get to the forums.

This is probably (hopefully) a dumb question, but when I uninstall WB though control panel > programs and features, does it delete all my WB themes?

Are both of these shortcuts correct? One has the old WB icon, the other has the new icon.  Does Screen10.exe load the service? Thanks.

How can I fill in icon images in older sets which are missing the newer OS icons.  It seems that many icons have duplicate images in the original Win 10 icon set, so how do I know which one to replace? Do I replace them all? Are there any differences? I'm having the hardest time with live folders :-)

Is there any tutorial for creating complete icon sets for Win 10?

No one, as yet, has created an icon package for the new version of IP. Is Icon Developer still a viable program for this?

Thanks folks,

David

Has anything changed with the process of creating an icon package? Just curious as there hasn't been a new icon package for almost a year.

Are there any tutorials for creating a full, complete Win10 Icon set?

Thanks,

David

I have two issues with Fences:

I use the Fences double click on desktop to hide icons and a couple fences.  The double click works correctly both to hide and reveal the items.

My first issue is that when I middle click on the desktop, all my hidden items reappear.  As if Fences is interpreting the middle click as a double click, but middle clicking again, does not hide them again.  I have to double click to hide the items, but then I can middle click to bring them back.  it shouldn't be doing this with the middle click.

Second issue is trying to load the Fences settings interface.  It takes a long time for the UI to show up, like almost a minute.  I can watch it load in the task manager, then it just sits there not doing much, then there is some CPU activity and the UI will appear.  This last time it took about 42 seconds-ish.

Thanks,

David
